Dhal (trini style)
need about 6 cups boiling water'(add more or less depending on the desired thickness)
1 pkg dhal (split pease)(rinsed)
need garlic, tumeric , peppers, whole cumin seeds, ground cumin
okay
step 1. boil water
step 2. add dhal and garlic
step 3. add 1 tsp tumeric powder and chilli peppers (or any kind of pepper)
cover (don't cover all the way!!!it will boil over)
let boil until dhal is soft,
step 4. when dhal is soft add (1 tsp) ground cumin and salt , swizzle and stir
in a small pan heat about 1/4 cup oil, with some crushed garlic and whole cumin seed (geera)
when this is hot add to dhal and stir...
and that is dhal, simple and yummy
